Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porziņgis scored 21 points on Friday in the National Basketball Association (NBA) game, in which the Boston Celtics team he represents suffered their first defeat in their arena this season.

“Celtics” lost at home 100-102 (32-31, 29-24, 21-26, 18-21) against the current champions Denver “Nuggets”, which ended the 20-game home winning streak of the “Celtics.”

In 36 minutes and 13 seconds on the court, Porzingis made three of five long-range shots, three of six two-pointers and six of eight free throws. He also had eight rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot, four sacks and a +/- of +2.

Derrick White led the Celtics with 24 points, while Jason Tatum added 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Jamal Murray had 35 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Nuggets, while Nikola Jokic had 34 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.

Tatum had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds of the game, but missed the shot as he was covered by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, leaping up with one leg and diving away from the basket.

“I think I rushed it and that’s my fault,” Tatum said. “I had more time than I gave myself.”

With 32 wins in 42 games, the Celtics are in first place in the Eastern Conference and the entire league, while the Nuggets are third in the West with a record of 29-14.
