The temperature was -30 degrees Celsius when the conductor threw Twix off the train. Twix was transported on a train between Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg and dumped in the snow near Kirov.

It is reported that the conductor mistook Twix for a stray cat and threw him off the train. After he managed to break out of his cage, Twix was seen walking around the train car by several passengers.

The conductor said she questioned the train passengers, but none of them came forward as the cat’s owner. Twix was issued a special ticket, but the animal was driven by a relative of its owner.

About 300 volunteers took part in the search for Twix, who searched the area around Kirov station. However, the search was unsuccessful as Twix was found on January 20th with no signs of life.

Separate reports said Tweeks died from an animal bite and frostbite.

The cat’s death sparked deep outrage among social network users – more than 70,000 people signed an initiative to launch a criminal investigation into the animal’s death after local authorities refused to do so.

On the other hand, 200,000 residents supported the initiative to fire the conductor, whose identity has not yet been established. Twix’s owner, Edgars Gajfullins, stated that he would go to court in connection with the cat’s death.
