A pastry chef has teamed up with experts to invent a cake that could improve your brain health.

The ingredients used are similar to those that could be used to make a delicious salad.

“Spinach, turmeric, pumpkin, beetroot” These include, according to Christopher Thé, the pastry chef who created the recipe.

The recipe for it “unforgettable cake” Also contains ingredients such as olive oil and cinnamon.

No clinical tests have been conducted to prove the benefits of cake for the brain.

However, the team from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia, says the ingredients are associated with improved blood and oxygen circulation.

They hope to stand out “the widespread problem of cognitive decline in older Australians”.

For example, beetroot is known to improve blood circulation and protect our neural network.

Olive oil can reduce Alzheimer’s biomarkers, honey is anti-inflammatory, and blueberries can improve oxygenation to our vital organs.

“Certain molecules in food ingredients have strong effects on our health”explains Johannes le Coutre, food and health expert at UNSW.

According to Johannes le Coutre, diet is a crucial element when it comes to preventing and treating cognitive decline.

“Awareness of the idea and concept of functional foods, etc. has increased over the last 10, 20, 30 years.”he specifies.

Kaarin Anstey, director of the UNSW Aging Futures Institute, added in a statement that ideally people should eat healthily throughout their lives.

“If a person is showing signs of cognitive decline, diet alone will not significantly improve their brain health.”, emphasizes Kaarin Anstey.

“The studies that linked healthier diets to a lower risk of dementia measured eating habits that likely reflect the way people have been eating for many years.”.

Christopher Thé, an experienced pastry chef, said it was difficult to find the right balance between ingredients and flavors.

“The first version I made tasted like a curry”confides Christopher Thé.

The cake was created to celebrate the charity’s 70th anniversary “Food on wheels”which mainly cares for older people.
