(MENAFN – Al Watan) A recent study revealed the true shape of the two ice giants, the planets Neptune and Uranus, and they are much more similar in color than previously thought.
The study used current telescope data to correct historical color errors and explain subtle color changes in Uranus across its orbit.
The planet Neptune is famous for its rich blue color and the planet Uranus is known for its green color, but the new study found that the two ice giants are actually much closer in color than commonly thought.
The correct hues of the planets were confirmed using research by Patrick Irwin of the University of Oxford, in which he and his team found that both giants have a similar greenish-blue hue.
