The G7 announced an embargo against Russian diamonds
The ban on imports of Russian diamonds was introduced by the EU in the twelfth package of anti-Russian sanctions, which EU countries approved at the end of December last year.
Among other things, the Union influences the profits that Russia receives from the export of diamonds. The package introduces a direct and indirect ban on the import, purchase or transfer of diamonds from Russia.

This ban applies to diamonds originating in Russia, exported from Russia, transported through Russia and Russian diamonds processed in third countries.
From January 1st, the ban will apply to non-industrial natural and synthetic diamonds and diamond jewelry. From September it will also apply to Russian stones processed in other countries.
