The drone, with a range of 1,000 kilometers, transports the load independently

The Cento drone is monitored by air traffic controllers and, in autonomous mode, solves the problem of long-distance transportation without a pilot.

MightyFly presented its drone called Cento, which can open up new avenues in transportation thanks to its high load capacity and even greater range. With the drone, it is promised that goods will reach their destination much faster than on public roads and, due to its hybrid-electric drive, is a more environmentally friendly option compared to most forms of transport. The third generation of the unmanned aircraft can currently only carry 45 kilograms of cargo, although a version with a carrying capacity of more than 200 kilograms will be manufactured later. The machine delivers the freight over a distance of up to 1,000 kilometers, then unloads its load independently at the destination and continues with the remaining goods to the next destination.

The vehicle is monitored and controlled by air traffic controllers from the MightyFly headquarters, and the loading of shipments is controlled by the ALMS (Autonomous Load Mastering System), which allows the doors to open and close independently while optimally arranging and securing the products inside the vehicle (Of course, human labor is also required to load the goods). The ALMS system can be deployed by the U.S. Air Force as early as 2025, and Cento will begin delivery in the Michigan area for demonstration purposes later this year.

Drone delivery is being used or at least tested by several companies around the world, Amazon for example is a leader in the application of the technology: they have enabled this type of home delivery in several American cities, and in 2024 the system will also be rolled out in Launched in Italy and the United Kingdom. In Hungary, Rossmann announced last year that it had begun testing the possibility of drone delivery, but the project was still in the pilot phase at the time, so the introduction of the service will have to wait for the time being.
