The European elections will take place on June 9, almost a month after the Catalan elections and closing the electoral cycle in Spain after the Galician elections in February and the Basque Parliament on April 21.

This Tuesday the Center for Sociological Research (CIS) has published the first preview of the results of the study ‘Opinions and attitudes towards the European Union‘ in which it also asks respondents which party they would vote for in the elections to the European Parliament, elections in which the deputies who represent the interests of European citizens are chosen. If the elections were held today there would be a tie between PSOE and the PP, in which a 19,3% of those interviewed would announce their intention to vote for the socialists, while a 19,2% Those interviewed would vote for the Popular Party.

But the surprise came from the ultra tweeter and communicator Alvise Pérez. The agitator announced that he would run in the European elections on February 22. Now, according to the CIS of Tezanos “Alvise’s party”, as indicated in the study, would become the sixth most voted force below Podemos.

This position would be granted by the 0.9% of respondents, thus tying with Juntsand surpassing parties like Esquerra Republicana (0.8) or EH Bildu, which this weekend made history in the Basque Parliament elections, by tying in seats with the PNV.

In this way, the PSOE and the PP would tie technically, remaining as the first and second corresponding forces, with the 19,3 y 19,2% of the votes. Thirdly, and with great difference with respect to the socialists and the popular ones, VOXthe formation led by Santiago Abascal, would enter with 4.7% of the ballots

The fourth and fifth force would correspond to the left of Yolanda Díaz, summerand that of Ione Belarra, with We can, with 2.9% of the votes. The purple formation would obtain a slightly better percentage of the votes, with 2.3%, however, a 31.8% still do not know What would I vote for?

The objective of these elections is to renew the seats of the European Parliament, the only European institution that is renewed at the polls, and which is made up of the different member countries of the European Union. To do this, a total of 720 seats will have to be elected. Germany is the one that will give the most, with a total of 96followed by France (81), Italy (76) and, in fourth position, Spain (61).

To this end, Alvise Pérez, who has spread disinformation on numerous occasions, announced through his social networks that he would run for election to the European Parliament. “Let’s take out the dirty laundry in the face of all the political and media ilk in our country, using against them the same judicial shield that all of them have used to hide,” he said in the announcement that he shared on Instagram.

Pérez has already been convicted on different occasions for spreading hoaxes. In March 2023, Justice sentenced to pay 5,000 euros to the former mayor of Madrid Manuela Carmena for spreading the hoax on Twitter that he had received a respirator at home during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, something that was false. He has also been ordered to pay compensation 60,000 euros to former minister José Luis Ábalos for publishing your home without consent, or for illegitimate interference to the right to the journalist’s own image Ana Pastor.

Take violence seriously – this is exactly how Nazis work

#violence #Nazis #work

In the SD sphere and other parts of the outer right, there has long been a tendency to relativize and soften the extreme right-wing violence. Nazi demonstrations and acts have often been met with a sleepy half-reflex: “It’s about some confused young men with swastika flags. The real threat comes from Islamism”.

As if democracy and people’s safety could not be threatened from several sides at the same time.

Wednesday night’s attack towards a meeting in The old man, southern Stockholm, shows any doubters that the far-right threat is worth taking very seriously. This is exactly how fascism works. Masked people storm in and silence the opinions of others with kicks and punches.

The murder in Gubbängen took place just a few kilometers from the major Nazi attack on an anti-racist demonstration in Kärrtorp about ten years ago. And a little more than a week ago Nazi NMR took the blame for a violent attack against EU migrants in a forest in northern Stockholm.

It is high time for the doubters to take the Nazi threat very seriously.

It is high time for the doubters to take the Nazi threat very seriously. As recently as February noted Säpo in its status report for 2023/2024: “The threat of attacks against Sweden comes primarily from violent Islamist extremism and violent right-wing extremism.”

So from both. Not from one or the other. Anyone who relativizes Nazi violence with the fact that Islamist violence is worse is like someone who only looks in one direction when crossing the street and thinks that everything is calm.

During winter and spring has meetings with representatives of the government canceled by climate and Palestine activists. It has rightly upset people who believe that democracy means letting people speak to the point. Wednesday night meant a terrifying escalation.

Among other prime ministers Ulf Kristersson reacted strongly to the Nazi violence in Gubbängen. Excellent. The entire political spectrum must stand strong against all attacks on the democratic conversation. Then it is not enough to crouch behind cowardly phrases that “the others” are indeed worse.
