LG Display engineers didn’t rest last year either, which is perfect proof that they’ve made significant progress when it comes to brightness for OLED panels. According to the company, the maximum luminance of 2024 MLA, i.e. microlens OLED displays, can reach 3,000 cd/m², an improvement of about 150 percent compared to last year.

This is of course particularly important for content with a large dynamic range, as the end result can be even more authentic and spectacular. In addition, thanks to the higher brightness, the image can theoretically be enjoyed in a sunny room, which is why the manufacturer’s products have previously been criticized. Even if you spend a lot of money on a high-end OLED TV, buying a regular blind or curtain is usually not a problem either.
According to recent information, LG Display’s 2024 high-brightness OLED panels could appear in the company’s LG G4 and M4, as well as high-end OLED TVs from Panasonic and Sony.
