A yellow code warning has been issued for Balıkesir, Istanbul, Çanakkale and Izmir on the General Directorate of Meteorology’s Warning Status for Turkey map.
In Balıkesir, Çanakkale and İzmir, the wind is expected to blow strongly from the north and sometimes blow in the form of a storm. Authorities warned to be wary of negative impacts such as falling trees and poles, flying roofs and transportation disruptions.
Warning from AKOM
Showers and snow are expected in Istanbul. The Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) warned that the precipitation that will be seen until midday will be mostly in the form of sleet, but will also become heavier for a short period and in the form of thunder and Lightning events and sudden snowfall can cause showers.
