We are currently waiting for the Silent Hill 2 remake game from the Polish studio Bloober Team, which cooperates with the Japanese Konami. Although the Krakow studio has practically completed the game (at least that is what can be concluded from the information released), Konami is still silent about the full presentation of the game and the disclosure of the release date. However, we know that the Silent Hill 2 remake was created using Unreal Engine 5. The same tool was used by one of the Internet users to prepare a fan project of another iconic part – SILent Hill 4: The Room.
What could Silent Hill 4: The Room look like on Unreal Engine 5? A new fan project gives us insight into this version of horror.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is in good hands, but Bloober Team still needs time to finish the game
Two videos appeared on Maxim Dorokhov’s YouTube channel presenting a fan project of the game Silent Hill 4: The Room, ported to Unreal Engine 5. The video was limited only to the opening sequence in the apartment where the main character Henry Townshend is. The material is characterized, first of all, by a much greater level of detailing of all objects and objects in the apartment. In addition, there are incomparably higher quality textures and richer lighting. The video is full of iconic elements, such as a door locked from the inside that is mysteriously gagged with chains.

Silent Hill 4: The Room is a survival horror production that premiered in 2004 (this year marks its 20th anniversary) and was the first production in the series where it was decided to introduce two different cameras – first-person in-rooms and third-person camera -person in other locations. It was also the last game in the series to receive relatively high ratings from both industry portals and the players themselves. Konami is currently focusing on Silent Hill 2 Remake and a few new games (Silent Hill F and Silent Hill Townfall), but who knows. Perhaps the success of the restored version of the legendary 2 will prompt Konami to also prepare a new version of the popular 4. Currently, the original Silent Hill 4: The Room can be purchased on the GOG.com platform for less than PLN 36.
