Kochi : Actor and former MP Suresh Gopi has been granted early bail in the insulting journalist case. The Supreme Court directed the police to release him on bail if arrested. The government court announced that there was currently no situation for an arrest. The decision was made taking into account the government’s position.

Suresh Gopi approached the Supreme Court after the FIR was amended by adding a serious section after interrogation. The anticipatory bail application alleges that the reason for the case is political animosity over leading a rally against the government on the Karuvannur issue. The petition states that the journalist who blocked his path when he returned from the broadcast was only transferred and did not misbehave. The Kozhikode police had filed a charge sheet in the case.

Narendra Modi is expected to arrive in Guruvayur on January 17 to attend the wedding of Suresh Gopi’s daughter

The incident related to the case took place on October 27 last year when he was meeting journalists in Kozhikode. The case registered by the Nadakav police includes a chargesheet of around 180 pages. 354 A and subsections 1 and 4 were initially incorporated into the case. This also includes the criminal offense of touching with sexual intent. Later, in further investigation, police added Section 354 for the offense of touching with intent to indecent assault. All of this is included in the fee list.
