Princess Ingrid of Norway celebrated her 20th birthday with soldiers

Although the day couldn’t have been closer than in their dreams, the Norwegian royal family paid tribute to the Princess at all their social gatherings on Sunday, January 21, including by posting a photo of her in a military uniform with the caption: Happy Birthday to Princess Ingrid Alexandre, who is celebrating her 20th anniversary today.

The daughter of Dorn’s heir, Crown Prince Haakon, moved out of the family estate last year. Norwegian newspaper Se og Hør reported at the time that the princess had chosen a hipster part of Oslo called Grnerløkka for her new home.

Military service is the next step towards independence. Last April, the princess graduated from Elvebakken High School in Oslo and then worked as a college assistant and environmental worker on one of her cows right in the capital. Thanks to his military background, he follows in his father’s footsteps.

While the princess has flown the nest, her little brother, 18-year-old Prince Sverre Magnus, still lives in the family home in Asker, where he is completing his middle school at Elvebakken Upper Secondary School.

Future European queens also completed military training. Belgian Crown Princess Elisabeth went through it in 2020 as well as 2021 and 2022. The Spanish Princess Leonor again last year.
