The official premiere of the updated models of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards with the SUPER grade is already behind us, so the first manufacturers are presenting their non-reference systems of selected variants. This time, a solution from MSI was presented at the ongoing CES 2024 electronics trade fair, namely the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16G EXPERT Edition. It is particularly notable for its rather original cooling system.
One of the first non-reference graphics cards that will proudly represent the updated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 (SUPER) series is the MSI GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16G EXPERT. This variant is equipped with an original cooling system with an interesting design.

This graphics card is supported by Zero Frozr technology, which keeps the two current fans idle until they actually need to be turned on. The fans themselves not only have a patented design that improves airflow and thus heat dissipation. The whole system is based on a small collaboration, after all, one of them sucks cool air into the radiator, and the other blows out heat, which helps reduce its accumulation inside.

The GPU itself and the memory modules are supported by a vapor chamber that efficiently transfers heat to the corresponding heat pipes. The latter’s task is to distribute them over the entire surface of the radiator. The structure is made of aluminum. However, at this point we don’t know if the base clock frequency itself has changed (although it likely has) or what specific “improvements” have taken place in terms of the specification itself. Non-reference models are always different from the originals, but we’ll have to wait a while until MSI releases more information about the launch date and purchase price.
