It has been 10 years since F-1 legend Michael Schumacher suffered a tragic fall on a ski slope in France, which is why he has stopped appearing in public.

In an interview with “Bild”, Ralf Schumacher looked back on these 10 years and also on the role of his brother in his life even before F-1.

“He wasn’t just my brother. He was also my mentor when I was younger. He taught me everything about go-karts. We are seven years apart in age, but he has always been there for me. We drove go-karts together.” “I practiced overtaking maneuvers and all the other aspects that are important in motorsport. I could just learn from the best,” said Ralph.

The incident with the legendary pilot shocked the sports world. Of course, Schumacher’s family was hit hardest by his fall.

“It changed our family. I can say that this incident was a very bad and dramatic experience for me. Not just for me. Also for Michael’s children. As we know, Mick was there at the time. Unfortunately, life isn’t always so fair,” Schumacher recalled.

Michael escaped serious injury several times along the route. Ralf admits that his brother has been lucky throughout his career. Unfortunately, it turned its back in an accident outside of motorsport.

“I miss old Michael. Sometimes life is unfair. Michael was lucky several times in his life, but then the tragic accident happened. Luckily, modern medicine helps him. But nothing is the same anymore,” said Ralph.

Michael Schumacher took 91 wins in his F-1 career, which was the all-time record until the 2020 season, when he was surpassed by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. Ralf, on the other hand, completed a total of 182 races with six wins.
