Aya Gold & Silver is expanding its base at its Boumadine mine in the Draâ-Tafilalet region, approximately 240 km from Ouarzazate. In a press release issued on January 18, the Canadian mining company announced encouraging results at the end of its 2023 exploration program conducted over 76,000 m2 of this deposit.

Specifically, the experts identified high-grade mineralization that varied between 531 and 1,409 grams per tonne of silver equivalent. These results confirm the presence of extensive high-grade mineralized zones in the southern and northern portions of this mine’s main corridor.

“The high-grade drill results obtained today, including drill holes BOU-DD23-223 to the south and BOU-DD23-218 to the north of the main trend, confirm the continuity and grade of the main trend at Boumadine,” said Benoît La Salle, CEO of Aya Gold & Silver.

“Infill drilling has reduced hole spacing to improve our confidence in grades and tonnages for the next mineral resource estimate in the first quarter of 2024, which will provide insight into Boumadine’s near-term mineral recovery potential,” he explains in the press release.

Recall that on November 20, Aya Gold & Silver announced the receipt of four new exploration permits for this Boumadine mine, which allowed the company to expand the surface area of this deposit to 78 km2. A few days earlier, on November 9, the Canadian mining company announced recoveries of 89% silver, 85% gold, 85% lead and 72% zinc after two phases of metallurgical testing at the same deposit.
