The Taiwanese manufacturer is preparing for a spectacular performance demonstration at CES in January. The new configuration of the Titan series will slowly no longer contain any element that does not offer the maximum.

Although it appears that OLED dominates the majority of newly announced laptops these days, the technology is positioned as an amazing development in promotional materials and manufacturer messaging. The increasing prevalence of displays that offer excellent color reproduction is welcome, but users are best served by having more high-end options to choose from. They may not be affordable now, but years later they could appear in lower price ranges and erase any unpleasant memories associated with TN panel technology.

In general, the gamer category is a good field for introducing new developments, and MSI is about to have a mini-LED demonstration just before CES in January. The manufacturer’s Titan series of gamer laptops probably deserve more attention, as they represent the absolute pinnacle in terms of performance and knowledge. However, it should also be noted that these models start with prices of over a million forints and the total amount of over 2 million forints are not uncommon.

The Titan 18 HX coming to CES won’t be shy in terms of price either, but if we look under the hood, for the painfully high price we’re getting the most powerful hardware components currently available. The size category and the selected graphics controller are not particularly exciting in themselves, as there are many other examples from our own company and from other manufacturers, but with the 14th generation i9-14900HX processor the GeForce RTX 4090 gets a little more performance. and the total performance of the two top chips is 120 Hz – and impresses with a 4K display. Thanks to the Mini-LED technology, the color space coverage (100% DCI-P3) and the brightness level can reach better, higher values, thanks to the peak brightness of 1000 nits, the panel complies with the DisplayHDR 1000 certificate. The exact resolution of 3,840 x 2,400 pixels comes with a delay of 3 ms and the manufacturer promises stricter quality control, which avoids display problems like the GT77 HX.

By the way, the leak of the full specification is thanks to a reseller; according to the configuration listed, the top version comes with 128 GB of DDR5 memory, in which the lucky owner can install two more NVMe storage spaces in addition to the 2 TB SSD drive. Network communication is supported by a 2.5 Gbit wired or wireless card that supports the Wi-Fi 7 standard, both from the Killer product line, of course. As usual from the manufacturer, the keyboard contains mechanical switches developed in collaboration with SteelSeries, and two subwoofers in addition to the normal speakers ensure the depth of the sound effect.

The official announcement is expected at CES in early January, with a price tag of around $5,000.
