“Ķekava/RB&B” breaks the resistance of “RTU/Rockets” in the second third.

In the men’s ELVI floorball league, the team “Ķekava/RB&B” won, defeating Riga “RTU/Rockets” 9:2 this evening and thus gaining the decisive lead in the second third. Tom Gredzen was the most productive of the winners with four assists.

In the first meeting between these two teams, which took place in Riga, the residents of Kekava won, but the result of the match was annulled, the technical victory 5-0 was awarded to the residents of Riga. The result of today’s game was announced in the 4th minute by the home team from Kekava, who took a 1-0 lead thanks to Reiņas Melgailis’ goal. Rūdolfs Dilbergs and Kristiāns Kociņš each scored a goal before the first break, giving the visitors a 2-1 lead. In the second period, the Čekava men scored four unanswered goals and led 5-2. Andy Umberts Barrus, Klaavs Jansons and Toms Ķeirans each scored a goal, but the visitors put another ball into their own goal. In the final third, “Ķekava/RB&B” scored four more unanswered goals and celebrated the victory 9-2.

Tom Gredzen was named the winning team’s best player, who was also the top goalscorer with three assists. Klāvs Jansons scored three goals, while Kārlis Degins, Andijs Umberts Barrus, Toms Ķeirāns and Reinis Melgailis scored two points each. Rūdolfs Dilbergs, the author of the first goal, received the award as the best player in the Riga team. After this victory, “Ķekava/RB&B” climbed to 6th place in the tournament table with 27 points, while “RTU/Rockets” still has nine points and the penultimate place.
