Jakarta, tvOnenews.com – Chairman of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU), Hasyim Asy’ari, admitted that the process of conducting general elections (elections) in Indonesia is the most complicated in the world.
“Although there is India with a larger electorate and the United States with larger elections, Indonesia’s elections are often viewed as… the most complicated election in the world. “So it is considered the most complicated election in the world,” Hasyim said after attending the 2024 National Election Readiness Consolidation Meeting in Istora Senayan on Saturday (December 30, 2023).
Hasyim said Indonesia’s election duration was also the shortest in the world as it only lasted six hours or from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
When conducting the 2024 elections abroad, Hasyim said, the KPU has instructed the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) as well as the local KPU representative office to invite ambassadors from friendly countries to attend the voting process.
The KPU also invited representatives from friendly countries to the election visit program (election visit) to be able to experience the voting process directly at the polling station (TPS).
“This is important for us to show that Indonesia is one of the largest democratic countries in the world,” he said.
