The free trade zone, considered one of the main areas within the King Salman bin Abd al-Aziz Royal Reserve, is rich in a variety of animals and plants, reflecting the wealth of wildlife and natural diversity in the Kingdom, including the Sand gazelle and the Arabian The wolf, the sand cat, the wild rabbit, the desert warbler as well as resident and migratory birds such as the bustard and the curlew as well as a range of herbs, plants and trees such as blackberries and tamarisks.
The area of Hurrah is about 14,000 square kilometers and is located in the north of the kingdom on the border with Jordan, east of Wadi Al-Sarhan. Hurrah consists of a volcanic plateau rich in black basalt rocks which contains one of the largest volcanic craters in the Kingdom as these geological and rocky features add additional beauties that complement the picturesque nature of the region in addition to a range of volcanic mountains reaching a height of approximately Reach 1,000 meters above sea level.
Hurra Al Hurra was previously an independent reserve until it was merged with a number of reserves and sites within the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve.
