On Friday the parties will debate in court in St. Petersburg.

The prosecution believes that Trepova knew that the statuette she presented to Tatarsky contained a bomb and therefore deliberately wanted to carry out a terrorist attack. Trepova herself denies knowing about the bomb. Trepova is also charged with illegal purchase and possession of a weapon.

Dmitry Kasintsev, who let Trepov into his apartment after the explosion, is jointly charged with concealment. The public prosecutor is demanding a year and ten months in prison.

Last year, on April 2, Tatarsky died in an explosion in St. Petersburg at the Street Food Bar No. 1” of the founder of the mercenary group “Wagner” Yevhenii Prigozhin died when his “creative evening” was held there. 32 people were injured.

The explosion was caused by a homemade bomb hidden in a statuette given to Tatarsky.

According to investigators, Trepova belonged to a group organized from the territory of Ukraine.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) previously claimed that one of the organizers of the explosion was Ukrainian citizen Yuriy Denisov.

There were also allegations that Roman Popkov, a Ukraine-based journalist and former chairman of the Moscow branch of the National Bolshevik Party, played a role in organizing the explosion. Trepova herself claims that she met Tatarsky at Popkov’s instigation.

Handing over the statuette was part of the task for which she was promised a job as a journalist in Ukraine. She didn’t know that there was a bomb in the statuette. In court, Trepova confirmed that she regretted the incident.
