The Xunta de Galicia has launched the fifth edition of the Activa Comercio Bonus which, like other years, has the objective of encouraging purchases in local commerce businesses and which offers up to 30 euros in different discounts.
The Activa Comercio Bonus consists of a discount check that is downloaded into a mobile application and can be used in establishments participating in the campaign. The validity period of the vouchers is from April 26 to September 15as long as the budget is not exhausted, which this year is 2.5 million euros.
The Activate Comercio Bonus discounts
As reported by the Xunta on its website, the discounts depend on the amount of the purchase made by the citizen:
- For purchases of 20 to 30 euros the discount is 5 euros.
- For purchases of 30 to 50 euros the discount is 10 euros.
- For purchases of more than 50 euros the discount is 15 euros.
How to download and use the Activa Comercio Bonus
The first step is to register at www.bonosactivacomercio.gal or in the Bonos Activa Comercio mobile application. The system will send the citizen a validation SMS to the phone number they indicate. This will be how you can activate the bonus to be able to use it.
From that moment you will be able to benefit from the discounts of the Activa Comercio Bonus, which can only be used in establishments that have the campaign badge.
In order to benefit from the discount, the citizen must show the QR code that the system has given them at the time of registration in Bono Activa Comercio.

On April 25, the municipal council of Ogre region approved the “Central Latvia Regional Waste Management Plan 2024-2028”, which envisages expanding the system of separate waste collection, developing the institutional system of waste management, creating a stronger waste management region, and implementing circular economy principles to significantly increase waste recycling and reduce the amount of landfill waste.
The municipality of Ogre county is part of the Central Latvian waste management region, which is the largest waste management region in Latvia, where almost half of Latvia’s population lives and 0.5 million tons of waste are produced annually. This region includes the administrative territories of the cities of Riga and Jelgava, as well as the counties of Đadaži, Bauska, Dobele, Jelgava, Ķekava, Mārupe, Olaine, Ogre, Ropaži, Salaspils and Sigulda.
In accordance with the Law on Waste Management, municipalities within the waste management region develop a regional waste management plan (AARP). Municipalities whose waste collected in their administrative territory is transferred to the waste landfill “Brakški” (Jelgava state city, Jelgava county and Dobele county) have agreed to develop their Central Latvian waste management regional plan for 2023-2027. for the year. On the other hand, the other municipalities, in whose administrative territory the waste collected is transferred to the “Getliņi” waste landfill, including the Ogre region, have developed Central Latvia regional waste management plan 2023-2028. for the year the project, including in it the requirements set out in the valid regulatory acts.
The main objectives of the plan are to prevent the generation of waste, to ensure the reduction of the amount of waste to be buried, the rational use of waste as a resource, as well as to ensure that the generated waste is not dangerous or poses a small risk to the environment and human health. In order to achieve them, it is planned to inform and educate waste generators, expand the system of separate waste collection (creation of new waste sorting places and areas, promotion of garden and park waste composting, etc.), create case and property exchange centers, etc.
The regional waste management plan of Central Latvia 2024-2028 will enter into force after it has been approved by all municipalities in the waste management region.

AMLO celebrates approval of deputies of the Pension Fund
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador described as “very good, very good” the fact that last night the Chamber of Deputies endorsed the creation of the Pension Fund, as he stated that it is to benefit millions of workers.
Last night, with the vote of Morena, PT and the Green Party, the Chamber of Deputies approved the plan for the federal government to obtain 40 billion pesos from the Afores of workers over 70 years of age who have not been claimed.
In a press conference at the National Palace, the federal president pointed out that this reform is to correct the grievance caused in the neoliberal period where, he accused, workers were sought to not receive their full salary at the time of retirement.

President López Obrador accused that those who do not like the approval of this Pension Fund are those who at that time approved the pension reforms in the governments of Ernesto Zedillo and Felipe Calderón.
He assured that there is a campaign against this reform saying that the government will steal pensions, something he rejected.
