Guwahati: Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of using someone else for the Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra in Assam. He also clarified that Rahul’s other person’s name will be released soon. Himanta Biswa Sharma first made this allegation on Thursday. It was alleged that the news picture of Rahul Gandhi sitting on the roof of the bus used for the trip was not Rahul. Himanta also alleged that Rahul is using someone else to travel.
“I’m not just saying that. The name of the other person and all information on how to proceed will be published shortly. Wait for a few more days,” he clarified while responding to the media after attending an event in Sonipur district on Saturday. I will be in Dibrugarh on Sunday. The next day I am not in Guwahati. After returning, the other person’s name and details will be made public,” Himanta added.
Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra traveled across Assam from January 18 to 25. Throughout the trip, Rahul Gandhi referred to Himanta as the most corrupt prime minister in India. The BJP government in Assam had not allowed the yatra to enter many places. Congress workers’ attempts to break through police barricades often led to clashes. Due to this, a case was filed against Rahul Gandhi.
Himanta added that all Gandhis must come if he wants to be defeated in Assam. Apart from the arrival of Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka, Himanta feels that Priyanka’s son should also be brought along. “With Rahul, they couldn’t make it happen. Now Priyanka and Sonia will be overthrown” – Himanta’s comment referred to the Congress’s preparations to organize events under Priyanka’s leadership in Assam soon.
Assam has 14 Lok Sabha seats. 9 of them are held by the BJP. Congress – 3, AIUDF – 1, Independent – 1. This time Himanta is confident that he will definitely win 11 seats. Himanta says he will try to increase the number to 12.
