The Social Security Administration (SSA) of the United States has announced an increase in monthly retirement payments for retirees who reached the age of 67. According to the SSA, in 2024 individuals who retired at age 67 are receiving an average of $1,907, which is an increase of $61 compared to the previous year.

The SSA also established a schedule for the payment dates of Social Security checks, depending on the birth month of the beneficiaries. Those who retired before May 1997 receive their payment on the third day of the month. Retired workers born between the 1st and 10th of any month receive payment on the second Wednesday of the month, while those born between the 11th and 20th receive it on the third Wednesday, and those born between the 21st and 31st receive it on the fourth Wednesday.

Beneficiaries located outside the United States can apply for benefits and pensions online through the SSA website. They must provide information about who the benefits are for, the type of benefit desired, and other necessary details to start the application process.

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) provides monthly payments to people with disabilities and older adults who have little to no income or resources. Eligibility for SSI includes having little or no income, few or no resources, a disability, blindness, or being 65 years or older.
