According to a recent survey conducted by the American company Resume Bulider on a sample of 1,190 people, teleworkers receive less promotion at their workplace. On the other hand, they are happier than their colleagues in the office, Business Insider reported.

According to the results, 42 percent of home office workers received a promotion in 2023, compared to 55 percent of office workers. Hybrid working almost completely eliminated the disadvantages faced by teleworkers among those surveyed, with a promotion rate of 54 percent.

When it comes to salary increases, the situation here is even worse: only 41 percent of remote workers received at least a 10 percent raise, while the proportion of such employees was 50 percent among fully in-office and hybrid workers.

However, the dice turn when we look at how they feel. According to the survey results, employees who worked exclusively in the office reported more stress and dissatisfaction at work. 11 percent of those who work exclusively from their workplace rated their mental health as “poor or terrible,” compared to 8 percent of remote workers. Another 43 percent of full-time office workers said they were “very stressed,” compared to 30 percent of remote workers.

The low mood also affects feelings about the job: half of full-time office workers said they would try to find a new job in the next year, while just over a third of remote workers reported such an intention.
