Unless your name is Greg McLemore, a games console enthusiast who made his fortune with the advent of the Internet in the late ’90s, you are not the sole owner of the latest Nintendo Playstation prototype of the 200 made before the Sony clash and Nintendo. The lucky owner had to pay the modest sum of 360,000 dollars at his auction, around 328,679 euros at today’s prices. A price that was a little too high for many fans who wanted to acquire this holy grail in their collection and led one enthusiast to create his own version of the Nintendo Playstation with much simpler and cheaper solutions.

The Inaccessible Grail! Our MacGyver with the glue gun and the soldering iron is a YouTuber named James Channel. It started with a structure of an SNES, which was gradually cut up to introduce other components of a PS One. Aesthetically it’s pretty special, but it works, at least for a while, because it still seems very fragile and we’re obviously not sure if this version can handle all the games our Boris has owned during his existence.

Apparently, we’re saying to ourselves that if the guy had a 3D printer at hand, he could have designed a case that could more easily integrate the cables into the right place, the memory card connectors. It would have been easier for him to solder the numerous elements together and ultimately connect his Playstation controller to his old Nintendo console. The curiosity is obviously the CD that comes out of the console like a totem. Better paste it well unless you want to play Duck Hunt with your games.

It’s still fun to DIY, but we don’t really recommend you do the same. At least this can give you some ideas. We watch this video for fun and at the same time admire the imagination of this YouTuber who has amazed us in the past with his proposal for a portable Super Nintendo. Sensitive souls beware, James doesn’t hesitate to get to the point!
