After a rather turbulent beginning, Cyberpunk 2077 finally developed into a great game that largely met the expectations of players enchanted by the first trailers. Since the game was technically stabilized, the production received great reviews, and the Phantom Liberty expansion released last year clearly underlined the CD Projekt RED team’s ability to produce outstanding productions. No wonder the Polish team now has another reason to celebrate.

At the end of November, the local studio was proud to announce that 4.3 million copies of the Phantom Liberty expansion had been sold. This time the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion has reached another milestone. As reported by The game’s official profile on the X website (formerly Twitter) Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has already sold over 5 million copies. Well, given the extremely positive response to this add-on, it was only a matter of time before it reached that number. However, the time it took to achieve this result is impressive – after all, the expansion only saw the light of day on September 26th last year.

The quality of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is demonstrated above all by the very high Metascore on Metacritic, which is up to 89. It is worth mentioning that the purchase of the add-on was also encouraged by the simultaneously released patch 2.0 for the basic version of the game, as well as the fact that the expansion hit the market at a reasonable price. The price is 30 US dollars (99 PLN in Poland) – all in all, it’s not much for another dozen hours of gaming fun. Despite the success of Phantom Liberty, there’s no reason to expect another major addition to Cyberpunk – CD Projekt RED is now focused on The Witcher 4, with other plans including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 (Project Orion) or a remake of The Witcher 1 .
