The Professional Association of Cement Manufacturers (APC) announced the membership of NOVACIM, a new Moroccan clinker and cement manufacturer, at its general meeting on December 18, 2023.
NOVACIM has a cement plant in Oulad Ghanem with an annual production capacity of 1.6 million tons, representing an investment of 2.6 billion dirhams.
This membership increases the total annual production capacity of APC members to 24.6 million tonnes.
On the sidelines of this general meeting, APC members reaffirmed their commitment to infrastructure and construction projects in Morocco as well as their contribution to the national strategy to reduce CO2 emissions.
The APC, an association founded in 1982, brings together the country’s main cement and clinker producers, namely Asment Témara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc, LafargeHolcim Maroc and Novacim.
With 14 cement plants and 7 grinding centers across the country, the national cement industry employs around 38,500 people
