AMD has a problem. Nobody wants their graphics cards

That’s no secret AMD is not popular among gamers. While the Reds have a market share of around 34.4% for computer processors, only 16% of consumers want to use their graphics cards. This situation is particularly bad with laptopsand it will only get worse.

AMD RDNA3 mainly goes to Chinese MiniPCs

As the German editorial team of ComputerBase discovered at the trade fair CES 2024 he did not come no new laptop with AMD Radeon RX 7000M mobile chips. As if that weren’t enough, models with a close AMD relationship – e.g. B. Alienware m16 R, M18 R2 or ASUS TUF Gaming A16 2024 – migrated to the NVIDIA website.

It is difficult to say what is the reason for this situation. Especially since The AMD Radeon RX 7000M family has been available for many months, and NVIDIA hasn’t released any new mobile GPUs recently. Therefore it is difficult to use the argument “Partners did not have time to include Reds cards in their offer”.

It is true that there will be products on the market that use laptop graphics cards based on the architecture AMD RDNA3, but they will be MiniPCs. And especially from those who are unknown in the West, Chinese producers. We can only keep our fingers crossed that the Reds’ situation changes – a lack of competition is never good for consumers.
