AC Milan have secured their first winter acquisition

AC Milan was looking for defensive reinforcements and found them. The Italian giants officially announced today that they have found their successor at Villarreal. The chances are good that AC Milan is looking for reinforcements.

Gabbia returns to AC Milan

As expected, AC Milan have welcomed Matteo Gabbia back into their arms. The 24-year-old Italian defender was loaned to Spanish club Villarreal from AC Milan this season. He played in 13 games there. He jumped between the bench and the base.

Villarreal welcomed Eric Bailly again and Gabbia was able to return to AC Milan. There he becomes part of the first team and gives coach Stefano Pioli more options in defense. The club is struggling with a number of injuries there.

Can he really break through now?

Gabbia has played 51 games for AC Milan so far. The Italian central defender, who is a youth product of the club, has not yet achieved his big breakthrough.

AC Milan would still be looking for even more defensive reinforcements. Matte Smets from STVV, among others, has already been linked to the club.
