The war between the Armed Forces of the State of Israel (IDF) and Palestinian terrorists has been going on for 112 days. Hamas members should have their own tunnels fall on their heads and bury them. The Israeli army is trying to fulfill the political task of eradicating Hamas, but is not even close to achieving its goal, according to the American news channel CNN. But 25,000 people have already died in the Gaza Strip, both terrorists and civilians. And so there are more and more proposals for resolving the entire conflict. And in the meantime there is also an earthquake in Israel’s political scene. People who draw their strength from the military are applying for the office.

Description: Israel’s missile defense system destroys rockets fired from the Gaza Strip

“Hamas is collapsing in its own tunnels,” Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told soldiers from the Combat Engineering Corps’ Yahalom unit during a visit to the unit’s training base on Thursday. The server of the Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post drew attention to his words. After the briefing, Gallant expressed his appreciation to active duty and reserve troops for their efforts in the ongoing war.

“Hamas has suffered hundreds of underground casualties as a result of your operations and those of your friends. And besides, we have only been here for a day and a half, and yet over a hundred terrorists have appeared in the Khan Yunis area and other places, some of whom are underground – because they understand that they cannot fight the IDF. This is thanks to you and your friends.”

The minister acknowledged that Israeli forces cannot rid the Gaza Strip of all terrorists, but they can be thorough enough to dismantle the terrorist organization. “Persist, do your job and we will deliver the result.” What you are doing is very much appreciated throughout the State of Israel, by the public and certainly by the security forces and the IDF. Thank you friends, I wish you all much success,” the ministerial statement concluded.

The Times of Israel server also reported on the operation against Hamas.

“The paratrooper brigade operates in the Khan Younis neighborhood of al-Amal, where it encountered numerous Hamas gunmen, searched terrorist group sites, and confiscated and destroyed weapons,” the IDF said. It said soldiers raided a Hamas compound in the area and found a large cache of firearms, grenades and explosive devices to be dropped by drones and mortars. In another raid, three armed Hamas fighters opened fire on soldiers. The IDF said the paratroopers returned fire, killing two of them while the third fled into a building. Footage released by the IDF showed a drone sent into the building by the brigade to scan the third gunman. The clip showed the gunman opening fire on the drone before it was revealed to be dead after soldiers opened fire on it. The IDF also released footage showing airborne brigade snipers killing Hamas operatives in the Khan Younis area. It said, “Snipers have killed dozens of Hamas fighters so far,” he wrote of the operation Server Times of Israel.

The Israeli army is trying to fulfill the political task of eradicating Hamas, but loudly American news channel CNN doesn’t even come close to achieving its goal. But 25,000 people have already died in the Gaza Strip, both terrorists and civilians.

“Qatar – the main mediator – says it is in ‘serious discussions’ with Israel and Hamas and is receiving ‘constant responses’ from both sides. No “negotiations” yet, says White House. But with the ongoing indirect talks, we appear to be moving closer to what Ofer Shelah, a senior researcher at the Israel Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), describes as a “Zopa” – a zone of possible agreement,” CNN reported.

Meanwhile, Israel’s political scene is experiencing an earthquake. The political power of the IDF reservists is changing the political map. “A new party made up of IDF reservists who served in the Gaza Strip would win 10 seats if led by former communications minister Yoaz Hendel,” the Jerusalem Post wrote, citing a poll conducted for the newspaper.

The Israeli parliament – the Knesset – has a total of 120 seats, and a political party with the strength of ten votes could already shake up the distribution of political forces. According to the newspaper, the poll also showed that the Reservist Party, led by other candidates with military backgrounds, would win strong support. In general, it is the soldiers who represent a significant political force that can reshuffle the cards after October 7, 2023, after the terrorist massacre attributed to Hamas.

“Research by Dr. “Menachem Lazar showed that a new reserve party led by the right-wing Hendel or Chikli would bring Netanyahu’s coalition to a historic minimum of 40 seats,” the newspaper wrote on the subject.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the survey was conducted on January 24th and 25th and was attended by 513 participants. The respondents were a representative sample of the adult population, including Jewish and Arab citizens aged 18 and over.
