Yvelines. 400 Wifi terminals and 57 computers stolen from the Renault Technocentre

A couple from Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis – dep. 93) was presented, on May 25, to the judicial court of Versailles. The 33-year-old duo are accused of stealing near 400 bornes Wifi au Technocentre Renault of Guyancourt (Yvelines).

The affair broke out following two complaints from the automaker.

300 000 euros

The first concerns the period from March 1 to April 26, 2022, with the disappearance of these 400 terminals during network modernization works. Estimated damage: 300,000 euros.

The second is more reduced in time: between April 5 and 7, 2022. During this period, 57 new laptops and their accessories disappeared. They were stored awaiting distribution to employees.

Faced with the extent of the damage, and the industrial sensitivity of the plaintiff, the property damage unit of the Urban Security ofElancourt has been entered.

The police immediately went to search the site leboncoin.fr hoping to find the material for sale. An ad caught their attention. From there, they went back to the suspect couple, by authenticating the IP address.

Inquiring about the couple, the investigators discovered that the man worked for a service provider, on the site of Renault from Guyancourt.

The history of the advertisements published by the man and the woman as well as the exploitation of the bank accounts finished anchoring the conviction of the police officers.

On the morning of May 24, the arrests and the search were therefore launched.

A dog, specialized in the search for narcotics and banknotes, put his paw on 2,700 euros in cash and a plate of cannabis resin. A laptop computer and computer equipment from the Technocentre Renault were also discovered.

Full confession

During the hearings, the couple made full confessions.

“He explained to him that he stole the equipment gradually, during his interventions at Renault. Everything was then sold on leboncoin. His partner admitted to having benefited from the financial benefit, confirming the sum of 300,000 euros. »

A source close to the case.

A sum that would have been quickly squandered since only 8,000 euros were seized by the courts pending their trial.

Pending the hearing, the couple was placed under judicial supervision. Until now, none was known to justice.
