Uefa announced their top team of the tournament on Tuesday. Now it was the turn of the 20-minute community. This is what your dream elf looks like.
The 20-minute community has voted.
This is what your top eleven of the European Championship looks like.
Four Swiss are also part of the party.
What a clear thing! If the European champion Gianluigi Donnarumma is the guardian at UEFA, Yann Sommer is clearly the best goalkeeper of the tournament for the community. Over 60 percent of the votes go to the Gladbacher keeper. Number two with at least 26 percent is penalty killer Donnarumma.
Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo form your central defense. The oldie defense of the Italians convinced across the board. The community is particularly fond of 37-year-old Chiellini. 37 percent choose the player currently without a club as the central defender of the tournament. Bonucci receives a good 20 percent of the vote. Manuel Akanji, who defended against France and Spain with a lot of heart, got himself a place in the bank.
What do Steven Zuber and Leonardo Spinazzola have in common? Right, they were the strongest full-backs for you and only played up to the quarter-finals. Roma player Spinazzola tore his Achilles tendon against Belgium and Zuber failed with the national team against Spain. Assist record hunter Steven Zuber receives 39 percent of all votes. At Spinazzola it is 26 percent – the 28-year-old also makes it into the official Uefa team. Manchester United’s final scorer Luke Shaw is only enough for a bench seat.
Granit Xhaka the leader! A graphic circulated on Monday that showed Xhaka as part of Uefa’s top team. However, this was refuted on Tuesday. In the community, however, the national team captain played his way into the hearts. Almost half of all votes go to the 28-year-old. The place next to Xhaka is occupied by European champion Jorginho, who wins 17 percent of all votes. World champion Paul Pogba sits on the bench.
Federico Chiesa is everywhere. The Juve player makes it into the Uefa team and the community team. His performances in the knockout phase of the tournament were also outstanding. 35 percent of the community also take note of this. The Englishman Raheem Sterling twirls on the left wing position. 18 percent give him the vote in the semifinals, despite his flight against Denmark. Behind Sterling and Chiesa, Xherdan Shaqiri and Lorenzo Insigne fight for a place on the bench.
The record scorer is very popular. Cristiano Ronaldo was the top scorer, but did not make it into the Uefa team. With you he is at the top with 27 percent of all votes. His strike partner plays at Benfica Lisbon and the Swiss national team – Haris Seferovic. 19 percent choose the U-17 world champion in the top team of the tournament. Behind them, three top stars of the tournament are dueling. Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Patrik Schick all received just over ten percent of the vote.
The voting results are from July 13th at 11 p.m. *
