After Vicarious Visions probably had to throw itself fully into the production of Diablo 2 Resurrected, it was quiet for a long time about the revised version of the real-time strategy game Warcraft 3 Reforged. Now there should already be new information about the game this June. What awaits us there?

The January 2020 reboot of Warcraft 3 was a disaster for Blizzard Entertainment. Promised features were hardly implemented, players had extreme lags in the menu and even the polished cutscenes got some ridicule. At the time it was rumored that Activision is said to have torpedoed work on Warcraft 3 Reforged.

There hasn’t been an update for Warcraft 3 Reforged for about a year. In response to a question on Twitter, Blizzard Entertainment President Mike Ybarra stated that there would be news from the Warcraft 3 Reforged team sometime in June.

Finally the launch of leaderboards and clans?

Exactly what news this is, however, remains a secret. Aside from the criticism of the game, fans are still waiting for features that were present in the original game such as leaderboards, player profiles, clans, and native support for custom campaigns, many of which have been the subject of development blogs both before and after release.

Player profiles were last discussed as “the next high priority feature in development” in August 2020, although the game’s news page has seemingly been abandoned. Modders have already solved some of these issues by creating workarounds for custom campaigns and ranked matchmaking, but the base game is still badly lacking.
