Folding phones arrived on the smartphone market a few years ago, and there are several companies that are already producing their own models. One of them is Xiaomiwhich the introduction of the Blend Fold 2a device with an internal folding screen of 8.02 inches.
With this phone, the Chinese manufacturer realizes its alliance with the Leica firm, which the 50 megapixel main lens (MP) for your camera. It is a phone that succeeds the Mi Mix Fold, Xiaomi’s first in this segment and which was presented in March 2021.
The main screen of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has a 2K resolution and a diagonal of 8.02 inches, with a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits. The external panel, meanwhile, is 6.56 inches and offers a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, while its conventional aspect ratio of 21:9 (height vs. width) also stands out.
Both panels use a promising Eco LED technology reduce battery consumption by 25 percentwith a refresh rate of 120 Hz and compatibility with Dolby Vision.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main lens, a 13 MP wide angle and an 8 MP telephoto lens. On the front, the device integrates a 20 MP lens.
All are powered by technology from Leica, the German manufacturer of photographic lenses that provides image processing.
Hardware, design and price
Xiaomi’s new commitment to folding includes a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and it has a RAM memory with a capacity of 12 GB LPDDR5. Moreover, it works with the MIUI Fold 13 customization layer, based on Android 12.
In the connectivity department, the terminal is compatible with the 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 and LTE standard. On the battery level, it includes one of 4500 mAh It has a 67W fast charging mode.

Available in two colors, black and gold, this terminal will reach the Chinese market on August 16. Its landing in other markets is not yet confirmed.
The starting price of the device is 8,999 yuan ($1,334 at the current exchange rate) for the configuration with 256 GB of internal storage, from 9,999 yuan ($1,482) for the 512 GB option and 11,999 yuan (1927 dollars) for one terabyte (TB) of capacity.
