Xbox admits not fulfilling what was promised in the past Games Showcase

In little more than a month will be held Xbox Games Showcase 2023, a presentation of news that will take place specifically on June 11 at 7:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time). In it you can see announcements and news of the Microsoft games catalogue, although a part of the community has shown its distrust in the event because last year’s event left many unknowns in long-awaited projects such as Avowed, Perfect Dark, Everwild, Fable, State of Decay 3 o Contraband.

During an interview given to podcast Kinda Funny, Phil Spencer, head of Xboxhas acknowledged that the last edition of the Xbox Games Showcase did not live up to expectations, but has shown enthusiasm for this year’s event: “Last year, during the Showcase, you presented the 12 month planbut you didn’t necessarily fulfill all the games…”, asked Parris Lilly, a contributor to the podcast, something to which Spencer has responded emphatically: “No, we don’t comply. Without the ‘necessarily’. We didn’t comply.”

An event with surprises and news of well-known games

After acknowledging the shortcomings of last year’s event, Spencer has been enthusiastic about what they have in store for this year: “I’m not going to try to exaggerate Showcase here (…) I’m very excited about Showcase. We are going to announce some things that people have not seensome new games, [y] we are going to update some of the things that were on your radar”. In the interview he also mentioned that after the launch of Redfall He understands that the community has lost confidence and only wants to trust what they feel when they take control.

It should be remembered that after the edition of this Xbox Games Showcase action, an event exclusively dedicated to Starfield. It has also been confirmed that a few days later (June 13) a Xbox Games Showcase Extended with an expanded look at the main event announcements.
