There are no more Swiss women in contention in the singles of the Ladies Open in Lausanne. Stefanie Vögele lost in the round of 16 against Belgium’s Maryna Zanevska 5-7 3-6.

Like Jil Teichmann, Vögele came up against the 193rd player in the world. While the game was interrupted by rain on Thursday when the Argovienne led 5-4 with service for Zanevska, the recovery was difficult for Vögele on Friday. She only won 3 of 14 points to concede the 1st set 5-7.

In the 2nd set, Vögele (WTA 130) fought twice in long games not to lose her serve, but failed twice. She counter-broke to 3-3 but it was ultimately pointless. With his third break in the second set, Zanevska ended the match.
