“+ SMEs for the World”, a strategy implemented at the national level, by the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries, will be carried out for the second time in the province of Loja, from September 1 to 17, in coordination with the Provincial Bureau of local Entrepreneurship, within the framework of the 194 Loja Fair; in a collaborative initiative between the sectors: public, private and academia. Today, the representative of this portfolio of State, Daniel Legarda, will present a master class at the Benjamín Carrión Theater, at 09:30 in the Pocket Room; and then an exhibition of export products.
María Gabriela Samaniego, Zonal 7 director of the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries, explained that the Entrepreneurship Roundtable emerged a year ago —in an alliance between 11 institutions from the public, private and academic sectors— with a board of directors, added to a group of entrepreneurs who also seek to see the entrepreneurship ecosystem strengthened in the province of Loja.
“+SMEs for the world” It comes from the year 2022, Loja is the pioneer. The representative reported that, within the framework of the 193 Fair, the first edition had 504 beneficiaries, contributing 174 business appointments, 184 commercialization spaces, which implied foreign currency generated of approximately USD 66,000.
Then, in November 2022, they launched the strategy in the city of Quito for all the provinces; the reception was important, with approximately 4,000 attendees, 500 benefited entrepreneurs; to the point of considering it and establishing it as a —national strategy— and replicating it in the year 2023 in different territories of the country. In the current year, Loja is the second province; It was already done in Tulcán, then Ambato and others will come, until the end of the year with Galapagos.
Locally, they aspire to exceed the figures of the previous edition, also generating alliances with the Entrepreneurship Table to promote more SMEs, artisans and entrepreneurs.
Within the expectations is the participation of 200 entrepreneurs in the 17 days of the Loja Fair, but the number may double due to the activities carried out in the months prior to the event. They will be located in the business hall of the Simón Bolívar Fair Complex esplanade.
In reference to the investment destined to +SMEs for the Loja World, he commented that he has resources generated by the sponsorships obtained from companies that are positively committed to the project, such as: Cooperativa de Ahorro Cristo Rey, Crediamigo, ILE, UTPL, Novimueble , Importadora Ortega and others.
From September 1 to 17, the community can meet to find out about the activities that +Pymes for the Loja World contemplates. Commercial showcase, talks, mentoring, financial fair, demo day, supplier expo, craft beer festival, coffee and cocoa tasting, industrial products, are several options for those who come. (YO)
