The 29-year-old entrepreneur collected money from the state to buy a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan.
Above all, the corona crisis also has economic consequences. In many countries, generous corona help is paid to save companies and thus jobs. In Florida, however, there was now a particularly brazen case of abuse.
As “Fox News” reports, the entrepreneur David T. Hines from Miami received a total of $ 3.9 million from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The 29-year-old didn’t use the loans to secure jobs, but to buy a real luxury car. Hines quickly bought a 270,000 euro 2020 Lamborghini Huracan.
But the matter quickly flew open. “In the days and weeks after the payment of PPP funds, the accusation was made that Hines no longer paid salaries and falsified his balance sheets,” says a statement by the Ministry of Justice. “Instead, however, he made purchases from luxury retailers in Miami Beach.” The entrepreneur was arrested – now facing imprisonment.
