Online shop sells Hawaiian shirts with motifs from the Dillingen fire brigade
Under the heading “German Collection”, the operators offer one Californian online shops Hawaiian shirts with Motifs of different emergency vehicles at. The offer includes clothing with pictures of Hessian police cars. But also shirts that come with Emergency vehicles of the Dillingen fire brigade are printed in the assortment. This is exactly what is causing trouble now.
Firefighter has rights
The problem: Originator of the subject is a hobby photographer and firefighter Christopher Benkert. The 33-year-old told the “Bild” newspaper that for him the whole thing was “just bold” and “outrageous”. A request to use the image would never have reached him. But Benkert is currently refraining from an advertisement. The company headquarters are unclear, “in the end I ended up somewhere in Vietnam”, the firefighter is quoted in the “Bild” report.
City wants to examine legal steps
As can be seen from the newspaper report, now the City of Dillingen examine legal steps. After all, a fire engine with a visible coat of arms is being commercially abused without the knowledge of the municipality, according to a spokeswoman.
