In the summer of 2021, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” his 1500th episode. The RTL quiz show with presenter Günther Jauch (67) has been broadcast for 24 years. Hundreds of contestants attempted to become millionaires on the show during that time. But hardly anyone made it to the million dollar question and few of them could answer it correctly.

Who wants to be a millionaire? If you want to apply, you should prepare well in advance for a possible participation. General knowledge, quiz experience and good knowledge of current world affairs are an advantage on the show. However, the candidates do not have much time for training after their selection, because it can happen quite quickly after the online application at “rtl.de”. The candidates are called and have to answer a few questions spontaneously, reported “bild.de”. If they are selected, they also have to pay attention to a number of things on site. The right choice of clothes (not too garish and no patterns that could flicker) and a contract with a non-disclosure clause are among other things.

If you only attend to get to know Günther Jauch, you may be disappointed – unless you actually make it onto the chair. Because behind the scenes there is little time for chatting. A candidate revealed on “bild.de”: “Jauch quickly scurried past us without a word. Of course you can understand that, after all everything should be spontaneous in the show. It wouldn’t be if he knew the candidates before the show .” And without the exchange between moderator and candidate, the show would certainly only be half as entertaining.
