All-white roads to be expected. The departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais are placed on orange vigilance “snow-ice” for the whole day of Wednesday March 8. In his newsletterthe organization specifies that the alert began at 3 am and must last until midnight.

“The most significant snowfall accumulations should only concern a northeastern half of Nord-Pas-de-Calais with a much shorter episode in the south-west of these two departments, or even only rain”, can we read. A disturbance will cross the country and will give snow in the morning from Nord-Pas-de-Calais to the north of Lorraine. Around 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected along the northern borders, which started to fall overnight and continued until mid-morning. In its vigilance bulletin on Tuesday, Météo France judged this snowy episode “significant enough to cause difficulties”.
