War in Ukraine this June 22: the battle for the Black Sea intensifies, fighting rages in the East

Clashes for a strategic island, sunken Russian ship, fire against gas platforms, response against the coastal zone… The battle intensifies in the Black Sea off the coast of Ukraine, which challenges Russian naval power there.

In the space of a few days, according to belligerents and observers of the conflict, events accelerated, particularly around Serpents’ Island, a strategic Ukrainian islet.

This renewed activity is particularly linked to their use of Western weapons such as Harpoon anti-ship missiles fired from the coast.

On land, the Russian strikes “destroy everything” in Lyssytchansk, a strategic industrial city near Severodonetsk in the Donbass, deplore the Ukrainians who, at the same time, are busy obtaining arms and official EU candidate status.

Meanwhile, the tone has risen between Moscow and Lithuania, after the application by this former Soviet republic of restrictions for certain goods transiting to the enclave of Kaliningrad.
