Vitamin D has a major impact on cancer

A new study shows that a combination of vitamin D, omega-3 and exercise can have an impact on cancer risk. As the “Frankfurter Rundschau” reports, other studies have already come to the conclusion that vitamin D affects the risk of cancer. However, the effect was only small.

The research team, consisting of scientists from Zurich and Harvard, now comes to different conclusions. They examined the invasive cancer risk in around 2,000 people over the age of 70 over a period of three years.

In one group of subjects, the intake of vitamin D and omega-3 was combined with strength exercises. The result: the cancer risk decreased by 61 percent. The study was published in the journal Frontiers in Aging.
