Triathlon – Anne Haug presented herself in world championship form on the day on which she actually wanted to defend her title as long distance world champion in Hawaii. After this competition had been postponed several times and is now due to take place in Utah in May, it instead dominated the competition at the 70.3 Ironman over the middle distance on Lanzarote. The girl from Bayreuth completed the 1.8 km swim, 92 km on the bike and the 21.1 km half marathon in 4:30:31 hours, winning the women with a lead of over eight and a half minutes. “I am very happy to have won on almost home soil,” said Haug on her Facebook page. She regularly goes to training camps on the Canary Island.
