The Swarovski sprout wanted to delight his Insta followers with a holiday picture. But the action really backfired.
Willi Mernyi from the Austrian Trade Union Confederation finds an Instagram photo of singer and presenter Victoria Swarovski “to spew”. Paul Swarovski’s daughter had posted a photo of her vacation on Instagram – shortly after it became known that a massive wave of dismissals was rolling towards the crystal group. 200 employees have already been fired – by email – and another 1,000 jobs are to be cut in autumn.
“Today’s post from Swarovski Luxury Family Vacation in Marbella,” the unionist said on Facebook. The Swarovski sprout was also heavily criticized on Instagram – after all, the image was deleted. Important: You had posted the photo before the announcement, as the “Standard” writes.
Swarovski responded – anyway, clearly – via Instagram posting: “As can be seen from the current reports, the Swarovski Group is planning to cut jobs. After I have taken my own steps independently as an artist, I cannot make any decisions of the management, of any kind influence and deeply regret the current development. ” She understands that a holiday photo does not seem to be suitable for the employees concerned in this difficult time. So she deleted it.
