In his landing Gracia has already marked the keys that should guide his Valencia: “We have to be a brave, aggressive and balanced team.” In an interview with the club’s official media, Javi Gracia appreciated the involvement of the younger players and youth squads in the dynamics of the first team, hinting that he will have them: «If there are young and good players, logically they will have their place. There are already, there are already young people in the squad demonstrating that they have that level to compete to the maximum for the team.
Hours earlier, Gracia met at the Westin Hotel with the president of the entity, Anil Murthy, and the group of assistants to the maximum president. The meal discussed the future of the team, the start dates of the preseason (scheduled for August 10) and the configuration of the squad. Valencia want to renew the squad and Meriton seeks to get rid of footballers like Parejo, Kondogbia and Coquelin.
Gracia’s arrival, which was confirmed informally on Saturday, is not the only one in the club’s sports structure. In the Valencia branch, there was also talk of the incorporation of Tiago Mendes, a former Atlético soccer player who would take over the Mestalla. This move would relocate Chema Sanz, until now the branch’s coach, in the first team.
