  • 140 tourists from the Czech Republic were stopped at the arrival airport in Prague because there was suspicion that they had entered the country with fake corona tests.

  • All passengers on a flight were required to undergo a new test before they could leave the airport.

  • Fake tests happen again and again.

The Czech Aliens Police detained 140 travelers for hours at Prague’s Vaclav Havel Airport because they did not recognize their corona tests. According to media reports, the tourists suspected on Saturday that their test certificates might have been forged. Therefore, they all had to be tested again before they were allowed to enter the Czech Republic.

On the way home from Tunisia

Almost exclusively Czech tourists who returned home from a vacation in Tunisia in two planes were affected, mostly families with children. According to the tour operator, they were tested in Tunisia by a Czech doctor according to Czech standards before they started their return flight home.

An entire plane under general suspicion

The Aliens Police justified the precautionary measure with the fact that forged test certificates repeatedly appeared on entry. It was the first time that not only individual travelers but all passengers on a flight were obliged to have a new test.

Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhanek announced on Sunday an investigation into whether the police officers’ actions were correct.
