Rhine-Neckar / Heidelberg. In the vaccination centers of the Rhein-Neckar district and the city of Heidelberg, corona vaccinations will be offered without an appointment from Monday, July 19. All four vaccines from the manufacturers Biontech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and Astrazeneca are available.
At the district level, Astrazeneca is only offered in the Central Vaccination Center (ZIZ) in Heidelberg. A vaccination with the vaccine from the Swedish-British manufacturer will be possible there every day. Astrazeneca first vaccinated persons can receive a cross vaccination with Biontech or Moderna after at least four weeks according to the recommendation of the STIKO. In this case there is no right to choose the mRNA vaccine.
The two mRNA vaccines from the manufacturers Biontech and Moderna are injected in a circle from Monday to Sunday. Because of the logistical processes in the vaccination centers in Heidelberg, Weinheim and Sinsheim, it is not possible to choose the mRNA vaccine. On Fridays and Saturdays, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is also used, which only requires one vaccination for complete protection. All three vaccination centers in the district are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Low-threshold offer also in Heidelberg
All four vaccines are sufficiently available in the city of Heidelberg. “No registration requirement, just come over and choose the vaccine – we can hardly make the vaccination offer even lower,” said Mayor Eckart Würzner. People aged 18 and over can be protected from the coronavirus in the Pfaffengrund Society House from Monday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
