Leonardo Oliveira, director of agricultural services at Uruguay’s Ministry of Agriculture, told reporters today, Tuesday, that the country will continue to monitor the border with Argentina after the authorities in Argentina managed to eliminate a large swarm of locusts that were 20 kilometers from the border with Uruguay.
And Bloomberg News reported that an unlimited number of locusts survived the pesticide spray last week.
“We are still on alert,” said Oliveira.
