Expected this summer alongside the connected watches Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4, the Samsung Galaxy Buds, which occupy the wireless earphone segment, will clearly not come as a surprise. Many leaks about them have already revealed all the main technical information to know.

The latest is signed Tim Schneeberger, a developer on GitHub who got his hands on the beta version of the application – via the updated servers of Samsung – which will accompany the release of Buds 2. The opportunity to do so discover new elements, but also to corroborate others still at the stage of the rumor.

New color and battery capacity

Let’s start with the novelties. We already knew that the Korean giant was going to let go of the colors with white, black, purple and green. Samsung goes even further, since it should also offer a yellow color to its catalog.

On the battery side, each earphone would be entitled to a 61 mAh accumulator, coupled to a case with a capacity of 472 mAh. As a reminder, the first Buds of the name remained limited to 58 mAh and 252 mAh for the case. This energy gain would then compensate for a new function which is being confirmed more and more: active noise reduction.

According to a recent indiscretion of the leaker Chinese Ice Universe, the Galaxy Buds 2 would indeed benefit from such technology – at the time absent on the Galaxy Buds. The findings of Tim Schneeberger corroborate this rumor, since an option to remove or activate the ANC has been unearthed by the developer.

On the other hand, it would be impossible to adjust the level of active noise reduction. The application would not be stingy in customizations either, since several possibilities would be offered to users.

No volume control from headphones

For example, they could activate or deactivate the simple tap, double tap and triple tap, all associated with a specific action (walk, pause, next song, previous song). The dashboard and the page “Find my headphonesWould also have been redesigned.

Finally, controlling the volume directly from the headphones would not be on the program. Not very practical, since in this case you would have to systematically go out and use your smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 are expected at a price ranging between 149 and 169 dollars in the United States, or around 125 to 140 euros HT.
